Mountains

"Over every mountain there is a path, although it may not be seen from the valley." - Theodore Roethke

I'm trying really hard to stay in my post per week schedule and even though I've been really active and done many things lately which I wanna talk about in my blog, I find it really hard to use the spare time I have to make a new blog post. I'm just so tired of school, why can't the winter holiday start already? The week has been really hard for me because all of the sudden we had a huge English vocabulary test on Tuesday and 3 tests on Thursday. The English test was quite difficult but I managed to pass the test with a casual 4. The Thursday wasn't really easier but enough of that sad shiet.

Does Santa's magic elf visits your home too?

Meanwhile, one of my best friends aged. Merili got older, yehuu - not enough to drink and drive (you never get old enough to be allowed to drink and drive at the same time) but she got 16, jeez what a child, right? :D Actually, I just feel old when I'm helping the girl with her physics..

That's how messed up my weeks are right now

But before all that, on last Friday, I visited Teeviit 2016 which is an education fair with my friend Sten. I enjoyed the event and even saw some of my friends with who I attended the media seminar in summer. I learned more about volunteering and studying abroad, these topics are really important for me because I'm thinking about studying abroad and furthermore I'm having thoughts about doing voluntary work after high school but that's unlikely to happen because education comes first for me.

"Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away." - Elvis Presley

I should be writing my geography essay instead of writing this. In the beginning the schoolyear seemed to be much more promising than its now. My grades haven't gone down but I'm starting to be really lazy, I can feel it. Even though I'm writing the essay to fix my grade from 4 to 5, I'm still quite upset with my indolence.

Take 'em down

The weekend was almost as tiring as schoolweek because I attended two birthday parties on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, I attended Margaret's birthday party. The little princess finally got 16 and the party was a blast. Pretty much the first thing I did at the party was that I took over the DJ role. I switched on my Arctic Monkeys playlist and found out that I'm not the only madman who knows most of the band's songs by heart. We rocked hard with Mihkel and Robin until everyone else got fed up with us and changed the playlist. I had a nice father-son conversation with Deiro and later I played table tennis and as always, I was unbeatable (ego). The party ended at 5.30 a.m and I got home at 6 a.m.

The following day was not easier. I got up in about 4 p.m and had to start looking for 50's styled clothes because Marleen and Mia's party had a dresscode. I found some clothes and all of a sudden it was already time to attend the event. I'm a huge fan of Elvis Presley, actually not huge but I listen Elvis' songs from time to time. I don't consider myself as the one who tattooes Elvis on my left shoulder even though it would look rad. We teamed up with Kermo and Simon and competed against the others in beer pong but even though the odds were in our favor at the beginning, we eventually lost at the end - better luck next time, eh. What I loved even more about this birthday party was that the first guests got the chance to eat as many pizza as they wanted, I was one of them... Damn now I'm hungry.

I ended the busy weekend with Sunday football with my friends and unfortunately injured my right foot - great way to start a new schoolweek, isn't it?

"Let your hopes, not your hurts, shape your future." - Robert H. Schuller

Well, well, well. Visiting Skype was awesome. I was certain that the job shadowing day was going to be awesome in the previous post and I was right, it was cool. At first when I arrived, I was little bit nervous but it went away in a short time. My shadower was Rene who has been a software engineer in the company for over 10 years. He showed me around and explained how his regular day looks like. I learned that even though I'm interested in studying IT, the job won't be for me. As I find myself pretty social person, I couldn't imagine myself behind the desk all day. The building had of course lots of computers in it and what I really liked was the leisure room. Why? Because it had a ping pong table in it. Competitive as I am, I couldn't possibly leave Skype without competing with its employees. But don't think my day was easy, I had to solve a small programming task too. I mentioned in my letter to Skype that I know Python programming language and due that I had to use the language to solve the issue given to me. I succeeded. Later, I thanked Rene for showing me around and I met up with Liisa again (we both attended the job shadowing day). We shared our impressions of the day and took a train back to our hometown.

Made it!

Sad news! My video card broke down - I can't play FIFA anymore.. My glasses broke - I had to cancel my student shadowing day due that..
Enough of that sad stuff! My weekend was nice too. On Friday, I had a quiet coffee evening with Margaret, Mark and Caspar at my place. On Saturday, we had a small get-together with Mark, Kaido, Karlis, Kristel and Laura at Kaido's. We shared our thoughts and it the night turned out to be wonderful.

We've always had multiple common interests with Mark
