RAGE-20

"I rob banks for a living, what do you do?" - John Dillinger

It's been two weeks since I got back from Hungary. Therefore, there's been lots of studying again but that's not what I'm going to talk about in this post. I had my 20th birthday party at my home in Viljandi. Kicked my family out for a day and had a blast with my friends. Unfortunately, I can't share too many photos or videos of the event because they're too explicit for this blog (Dear future employers, I am doing this for you too). But no pic no proof so I can just say what happened. I told the guests that every wall must stand after the party so someone decided just to make a hole through a wall. It's OK, I wasn't surprised in the morning :D. There were a few other things broken too but this was normal considering how lit the party was. Everyone had a square meter or sth like that per person and it felt like a party which you see from the movies (not as crazy as Project X though). However, if you turn 20 and it's your special birthday then some might expect some great "girl action" too but instead... well I got a lap dance and I was sung a serenade but these weren't performed by a female (which would've made them a little bit more perfect). My jackass friend Maru was the star of that night. By the way, his name means "rage" in English, I guess his parents got the name right.. Anyway, I'd like to thank everyone who came and moreover the ones who helped me clean the house afterwards. It was a great 12-hour run together!

Merili told me to open her gift the following morning - what I faced was a sweet collection of some essentials

It's Halloween, why is it so special for me? Well, Stranger Things season 2 is out! Shout-out to Merili with who I'm going to watch the new season even though we don't live in the same town anymore :/. It's one of the greatest shows I've watched and I definitely recommend you to check out the show and my last post about the series.
Furthermore, I had a small sauna party with some of my classmates which turned out quite crazy at the end. I'm not going into too many details but yeah, after that evening I spent my remaining two days behind the computer screen. I needed to fulfill the needs of my nerd side too so I attended a hackathon called Tehnohack, tried to code there a bit, moreover went to dorm and stayed up all night making some sketches in Photoshop and the day after slept till afternoon and then decided I want to make a retro-styled mixtape. Anyway, I had a weekend which was diverse as hell. Happy Halloween, dear readers!

WKND 2K17

"A man's friendships are one of the best measures of his worth." - Charles Darwin

WEEKEND Festival was lit! The three days I spent in Pärnu were amazing. At first, I didn't really wanna go because like I said in the last post "this isn't my kinda music" and I would've preferred sleeping instead of dancing. These thoughts were in my head before everything cool happened in Pärnu that made me change my mind.

Put your hands up!

Day 1 - Karlis, Erik and I took a ride to our crib in Pärnu. The place we stayed at was the same as last year so huge thanks to our so to speak "landlords". We did everything we could to show our appreciation and thankfulness - check out the photos. We met up with some of our friends (as well as Günther who stayed with us last year) and we enjoyed the event together. The performer I liked the most on the first day was Don Diablo. The guy really knew how to speak with the crowd and that's what I expect from every DJ. I also met up with Mari-Liis (goood friend from Saku) and when at one point our group was huge, suddenly everyone split up. Finally, I was with Karlis who was drunk as hell so I had to babysit him. We met up with Günther and still had to offer him a place to stay because he couldn't get in to the place he was staying. We called Erik a couple of times to have him as our taxi driver which of he wasn't too happy about (he was already sleeping). Fortunately, we got home.

With Karlis - Work hard, party harder!

Day 2 started really slow. We had some extra people coming to join us from Viljandi and we had to wait for them because otherwise they couldn't had got into the safehouse. When Merily, Agnes, Merilyn and Annika arrived we still had to stay put because you know, girls.. Even though we missed Chainsmokers, we managed to see Tungevaag & Raaban. Weather that day was awful and therefore the only performance I attended after that was Deadmau5 which was fine but I hoped it to be way more awesome than it actually was. However, I was probably just too tired to enjoy the party 100%.

Blazing red lights

On the third day we had our group enlarged again with Peeter having a ticket for the last day. We went out for breakfast and after that arrived just in time for Cartoon live. Well this set was the best one in my opinion. They didn't just play some monotonous beat like most of the DJs but songs from different genres, even turned the event patriotic for a few minutes with Ivo Linna's "Eestlane olen ja eestlaseks jään" (in Eng. "I am Estonian and I will remain Estonian"). And of course Martin Garrix was my second favorite that day, it's just that if it comes to partying and listening to EDM, he's the prince of that music genre.

Tried to take a group photo and all of the sudden we had many new friends - our actual group is on the top row

Anyway, the whole festival was great. Most of the marvelous pictures were taken by Erik (so he's the one who's behind the camera all the time) and most of the selfies are under girls' ownership. I love the group we spent time with, so many amazing people at the festival, so what can I say - until next year I guess! (Now I can continue to watch Sons of Anarchy before going back to work.) x)

Snaps that bring these amazing moments back

JUKEBOX

"Success/failure in an academic setting often doesn't translate well to success/failure on the job."

The main reason I haven't posted lately is that I'm fully focused on working right now. I managed to get a position as a sales representative and I love it because I get to practice my social skills and see very different people. It's also great because I choose when I work, therefore it improves my self-discipline and the ambitious side of me can finally rise and shine. I'm planning to work until I go to Defense Forces in October.

No, that's not the job I was talking about - working at home with my bro

About my academic status, I'm now a student of Tallinn University of Technology. However, I'm going to really start studying next year because I have to serve 8 months in the Forces first. The hardest part was to choose what I'm going to study for the following 3 or 4 years. The choices were Business Information Technology & Electrical Power Engineering/Mechatronics - it wasn't an easy choice, I asked my friends and family, analyzed myself where I'd fit the best in future, looked up for possible career options, etc. Finally, I went with the second choice.

Thank you, EBS!

What else? There was a video contest organized by Estonian Business School which I chose to took part in with my friend Erik. The name of the contest was Entrepreneurial DNA and we had to answer some questions about entrepreneurship in a 1-minute video. Cool thing was that we started making the video a day before the deadline and somehow got 2nd place. We won 2 WEEKEND Festival tickets and I get to study in EBS's Open University for free (6 ECTS). I'm telling, next year is going to have a lots of self-improvement and studying. Now that I'm writing this post, I'm realizing all that. I already feel the exhaustion hitting me.

What makes me enterprising?

About the fun part, we had a small party with our friends this weekend. Not much to talk about it - typical drinking and eating contest as always.. Therefore, a great friend of mine Kristel took some marvelous photos. Check out her Facebook (pahkelphoto) and Instagram (@pahkelphoto)!

Welcome to the Jungle

"The best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit ramp of your comfort zone." - Karen Salmansohn

I'm afraid of heights but yet I was crazy enough to put skydiving into my bucket list, right? No, don't think I've already bailed out of a plane. I'm going to get over with it step by step. I got the chance to test myself by rappelling down a suspension bridge in my town. Actually, I didn't plan on doing it but we were bike riding with Mark and we ran into his father who coincidentally arranges leisure events of such kind. It wasn't as scary as I thought at first, I just overthink too much. After I had gotten my adrenaline rush, we cruised around for a while and Mark took some pictures of me and my bike.

Acting like I wasn't frightened

Mark surely knew that he has to capture that moment

Enjoying the view

There was another night song festival in my town and it was cooler than ever because this year I participated too. I sang in a choir and besides that spent time with friends by singing and dancing together. The pictures at the festival were taken by Ako Lehemets. Later on, I attended a birthday party which I attended too. Meriliis and Johanna celebrated their aging and it was so fun I don't even remember everything quite well.

"Truth is like the sun. You can shut it out for a time, but it ain't goin' away." - Elvis Presley

I should be writing my geography essay instead of writing this. In the beginning the schoolyear seemed to be much more promising than its now. My grades haven't gone down but I'm starting to be really lazy, I can feel it. Even though I'm writing the essay to fix my grade from 4 to 5, I'm still quite upset with my indolence.

Take 'em down

The weekend was almost as tiring as schoolweek because I attended two birthday parties on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, I attended Margaret's birthday party. The little princess finally got 16 and the party was a blast. Pretty much the first thing I did at the party was that I took over the DJ role. I switched on my Arctic Monkeys playlist and found out that I'm not the only madman who knows most of the band's songs by heart. We rocked hard with Mihkel and Robin until everyone else got fed up with us and changed the playlist. I had a nice father-son conversation with Deiro and later I played table tennis and as always, I was unbeatable (ego). The party ended at 5.30 a.m and I got home at 6 a.m.

The following day was not easier. I got up in about 4 p.m and had to start looking for 50's styled clothes because Marleen and Mia's party had a dresscode. I found some clothes and all of a sudden it was already time to attend the event. I'm a huge fan of Elvis Presley, actually not huge but I listen Elvis' songs from time to time. I don't consider myself as the one who tattooes Elvis on my left shoulder even though it would look rad. We teamed up with Kermo and Simon and competed against the others in beer pong but even though the odds were in our favor at the beginning, we eventually lost at the end - better luck next time, eh. What I loved even more about this birthday party was that the first guests got the chance to eat as many pizza as they wanted, I was one of them... Damn now I'm hungry.

I ended the busy weekend with Sunday football with my friends and unfortunately injured my right foot - great way to start a new schoolweek, isn't it?

Sports cars

"We are all of us stars, and we deserve to twinkle." - Marilyn Monroe

School weeks are going really fast, weekends even faster. I've been enjoying winter at max power. Couple days ago, when I was at home doing schoolwork, Margaret, Karmen and Liisa invited me out to sledge with them. At first, I was like nope because lately I've been trying to focus more on my studies but I changed my opinion because I had been studying all day long and needed to turn off my brain for some time. It was way more fun than I thought it would be, it brought back some heart-warming memories from my childhood. Winter isn't really my thing, I hate skiing and ice-skating because I'm terrible at these but you don't have to be good at sledging to enjoy it. Also, ofc I love Christmas too!!

Three little ones with their sports cars

Besides that, I went to a 2-day choir camp. It was really fun and I met some new people. The two days I spent there were exhausting yet really entertaining. Our choir really needed this camp because the group of people we have in our choir is so large that we still don't know eachother enough. The chemistry between us isn't gonna work fluently if we aren't friends with each other.

Quiz time!

Singing time!

Socializing time!

Also, I went to a hairdresser today, it was about damn time I was told. However, the coolest day of this week is going to be Thursday. For me, it's a job shadowing day and I'm going to visit Skype Inc. Can't wait!
