URGENT

"Friendship is always a sweet responsibility, never an opportunity." - Khalil Gibran

Time flies so fast that I had no idea that it has been more than a month since the last post. Anyway, I just wanted to update and say that I'm still breathing and blogging but I've been more busy than ever. The thing I wanted to tell you is that I'm not going to Defence Forces as the plan was because of my health problems (my knees wouldn't handle the pressure). From one side it's quite sad because I wanted to go but I'm positive about it because thanks to that I get to start studying in university right away. I'm coming back to the university topic later but a few events which happened in August need to be written down first.

#Blessed

Firstly, I don't see myself as a politician but as I'm moving to Tallinn and I'm in love with my hometown I decided to apply for the city council in Viljandi. It's important for me to visit my hometown and be useful in making Viljandi a better place. My main goal is to improve our school system - some of you might remember but I was a programming teacher in an NGO for primary school students and organised a programming workshop for children. Unfortunately, I'm more busy now and I can't do these things myself anymore but I can encourage other people to educate others from their spare time. Therefore, if you live in Viljandi and are more than 16 years old then mark your calendars because I invite you to vote for me - nr. 225, Toomas Erik Anijärv. You can vote on the Internet from October 5h till October 10th. The last chance to vote for me is in October 15th where you need to visit the local department to vote.

Secondly, just before going to school I attended Estonian School Student Councils Union's summer school and it was amazing. The three days I spent in there were both educating and fun. We had many inspiring people who shared their wisdom with us and in the evening we had cool activities which made us even more exhausted. I met many new pals and gals. I also got the chance to meet Juhani Särglep who's one of my favorite social media stars in Estonia. He told us how he worked hard to turn his passion profitable. The most memorable moment from the camp was from the first night. The team woke us up and they were dead serious and told us to meet the others outside. It was 3 a.m or something and for real we thought that someone was missing. Then they told everyone that it's important to stay calm and we had to move through forest to the seaside. It may not seem scary but at the moment it was because I was sleepy and it was dark outside. Then it turned out a prank and we made a huge group photo at the seaside. It was fun.

We were tired as hell but the joy shadowed it

While I was in camp one night the huge boxing match Mayweather vs McGregor took place in Vegas and my roommate and I woke up really early in the morning and watched in on the projector in the seminar room. We were tired as hell but it was worth it. I knew that Mayweather would win the match but secretly I still had my fingers crossed for McGregor. The match went on for 10 rounds and then Mayweather ended it. Anyway, this camp generated many cool memories for me.

Huge thanks for organizing such an amazing event for us, team!

Thirdly, I'm now a university student, aye! First weeks behind me and so far everything seems cool. I've made a few friends from my class and I joined a really freaking awesome organisation called BEST-Estonia. It's an international organisation and BEST stands for Board of European Students of Technology. We had an awesome weekend together - we learned, talked, partied, etc. I'm going to talk about that in the next post because otherwise this post would have too much different information. I actually have so much things planned and I can't wait to tell you about them. Leave feedback and say hi to me so I wouldn't be so late with my next posts.

WKND 2K17

"A man's friendships are one of the best measures of his worth." - Charles Darwin

WEEKEND Festival was lit! The three days I spent in Pärnu were amazing. At first, I didn't really wanna go because like I said in the last post "this isn't my kinda music" and I would've preferred sleeping instead of dancing. These thoughts were in my head before everything cool happened in Pärnu that made me change my mind.

Put your hands up!

Day 1 - Karlis, Erik and I took a ride to our crib in Pärnu. The place we stayed at was the same as last year so huge thanks to our so to speak "landlords". We did everything we could to show our appreciation and thankfulness - check out the photos. We met up with some of our friends (as well as Günther who stayed with us last year) and we enjoyed the event together. The performer I liked the most on the first day was Don Diablo. The guy really knew how to speak with the crowd and that's what I expect from every DJ. I also met up with Mari-Liis (goood friend from Saku) and when at one point our group was huge, suddenly everyone split up. Finally, I was with Karlis who was drunk as hell so I had to babysit him. We met up with Günther and still had to offer him a place to stay because he couldn't get in to the place he was staying. We called Erik a couple of times to have him as our taxi driver which of he wasn't too happy about (he was already sleeping). Fortunately, we got home.

With Karlis - Work hard, party harder!

Day 2 started really slow. We had some extra people coming to join us from Viljandi and we had to wait for them because otherwise they couldn't had got into the safehouse. When Merily, Agnes, Merilyn and Annika arrived we still had to stay put because you know, girls.. Even though we missed Chainsmokers, we managed to see Tungevaag & Raaban. Weather that day was awful and therefore the only performance I attended after that was Deadmau5 which was fine but I hoped it to be way more awesome than it actually was. However, I was probably just too tired to enjoy the party 100%.

Blazing red lights

On the third day we had our group enlarged again with Peeter having a ticket for the last day. We went out for breakfast and after that arrived just in time for Cartoon live. Well this set was the best one in my opinion. They didn't just play some monotonous beat like most of the DJs but songs from different genres, even turned the event patriotic for a few minutes with Ivo Linna's "Eestlane olen ja eestlaseks jään" (in Eng. "I am Estonian and I will remain Estonian"). And of course Martin Garrix was my second favorite that day, it's just that if it comes to partying and listening to EDM, he's the prince of that music genre.

Tried to take a group photo and all of the sudden we had many new friends - our actual group is on the top row

Anyway, the whole festival was great. Most of the marvelous pictures were taken by Erik (so he's the one who's behind the camera all the time) and most of the selfies are under girls' ownership. I love the group we spent time with, so many amazing people at the festival, so what can I say - until next year I guess! (Now I can continue to watch Sons of Anarchy before going back to work.) x)

Snaps that bring these amazing moments back

"There are no secrets to success. It is the result of preparation, hard work, and learning from failure." - Colin Powell

Work, work, work. Actually, I've been really busy with workin' my ass off but right now I'm writing this post before going to WEEKEND Festival. Karlis is sitting next to me and forcing me to listen all the trending songs otherwise I'd feel lost at the festival because this isn't my kinda music.
But what has happened lately? I've been working from Monday to Friday every week and even took a trip to Rakvere which is over 150 kilometers from my hometown. I spent two days there and stayed in a hotel and it was like some kinda tiny business trip x). However, last weekend was a little bit different than a usual one. I had a blast with my co-workers in Viimsi on Saturday. It was freaking awesome to actually get to know everyone from the company I'm working with.

On Sunday I met up with a girl I met at the Youth Dance and Song Celebration - Mari-Liis. She's really sweet but even more pessimistic than I am. We have that minus and minus sum up to a plus thing. Anyway, it's just an update post to show that I'm still alive and ready for WEEKEND.
