Eat | Study | Party | Repeat

"Remember that the most valuable antiques are dear old friends." - H. Jackson Brown, Jr.

Unilife is lit. I'm studying like a maniac but still have time for parties and it's just amazing. The only issue I'm facing soon is exhaustion. Eat, sleep study, party, repeat. But still, I have met many amazing people. The thing with university is that you meet people who mostly share the same interests as you. I get to fulfill the needs of my both personalities (those who don't know I have a slight form of split personalities - Toomas, the social butterfly and Erik, the nerd who loves to study and work hard). Toomas enjoys the parties which happen quite often. For example, as I'm writing this post I'm killing my time until the party which locates in an underground parking lot starts. We also had a small "meet n greet" thingy last week where we went to Old Town and visited some bars. However, thankfully Erik holds Toomas under control and for example yesterday night I completed the programming homework which had a deadline in October 15th.

One half of our studygroup

We have an amazing study group with who I study physics together. Once or twice a week we gather up in library and reserve a private room in there. I love to study what I'm interested in. At first, I wasn't quite sure if I'm studying the right thing but I thought I'd still give it a shot. I also bought a new laptop Dell XPS which is capable of playing FIFA 18 (of course) and it looks solid which is important to me, I needed a powerful computer which didn't look like a gaming machine. Furthermore, I'm broke af because I bought the laptop and also moved from my sister's to dormitory. At least now I live near the school and can sleep longer.
What else.. hmm.. Oh, just the thing that I'm going to Budapest in October!!! Like I said in the last post that I joined BEST-Estonia which is an international organisation. This organisation freaking sends me to Budapest to attend a Regional Meeting where I have to represent our local BEST group. It's scary as hell but I can finally get out of my comfort zone again! The meeting takes place from 12th till 15th but I'm going to stay till 16th because I want to explore Budapest by myself too - take some "me" time. Anyway, I'm sure it's gonna be cool.
October's gonna be busy. I'm also turning 20 then and I still have no glue whether I'm going to throw a huge party or a smaller one with my best friends. And more about birthdays, my friend Brigita got older and as usual she threw a small party at her countryside house. Sauna, hot tub, lot's of food and drinks and the most important, great company.

Totally OK

I don't consider myself an artsy person but I love the 20th century, its style, groove, music etc. I accidentally found a photographer who's every photo is a small piece of art. His name is Vincent Peters and I'm just gonna leave my favorite photo of his.

Welcome to the Jungle

"The best things in life are often waiting for you at the exit ramp of your comfort zone." - Karen Salmansohn

I'm afraid of heights but yet I was crazy enough to put skydiving into my bucket list, right? No, don't think I've already bailed out of a plane. I'm going to get over with it step by step. I got the chance to test myself by rappelling down a suspension bridge in my town. Actually, I didn't plan on doing it but we were bike riding with Mark and we ran into his father who coincidentally arranges leisure events of such kind. It wasn't as scary as I thought at first, I just overthink too much. After I had gotten my adrenaline rush, we cruised around for a while and Mark took some pictures of me and my bike.

Acting like I wasn't frightened

Mark surely knew that he has to capture that moment

Enjoying the view

There was another night song festival in my town and it was cooler than ever because this year I participated too. I sang in a choir and besides that spent time with friends by singing and dancing together. The pictures at the festival were taken by Ako Lehemets. Later on, I attended a birthday party which I attended too. Meriliis and Johanna celebrated their aging and it was so fun I don't even remember everything quite well.

The festival took place at my school's basketball court

Ups & downs

"Thank you for life, and all the little ups and downs that make it worth living." - Travis Barker

Everyone has their ups and downs. Right now I'm not sure which one I'm having but let's focus on the positive side. As the football pitch in my town was under construction for a while because it needed new grass cover, I hadn't played football for months. Now as the field is ready we went there to try the new artificial turf out by obviously playing some football. The weather was perfect at the time we arrived and thankfully Mark had his camera with him and we managed to score some great goals and take breathtaking photos.

Takin' it to the major league

According to my calendar, its still supposed to be autumn outside but when I look out of my window I see snow everywhere. I'm not really a fan of winter but when I went jogging yesterday, I was glad that I took my phone with me so I could get some stunning photos of the landscape covered with angelic snow. When I started running back towards home I ran into Liisa and Karmen who were walking their dogs. They were also outside to take pictures and Karmen even took one of me.

Ride 'n' Grind 2K16

"Hopefully, kids realize you can do anything you want. Skateboarding can be that gateway." - Ryan Sheckler

Yeah! Simple Session 16 was overwhelmingly good. On Friday I took the train to Tallinn and went to the job interview for upcoming summer because I need to earn some money to buy my own camera and a car. The interview was in English and I think it went quite well. Next up, I went to Old Town and as I had Mark's camera with me I took some pictures. I reunited with an old friend and later Mark, Kaido and Simon came to Tallinn too.

Birds sing, photographer smiles

On Saturday, the qualification day of the Session began. Watching how people skate and ride made me wanna learn these things too - really thrilling to watch. Sadly, just before the end of the qualification Kyle Baldock fell right onto his head. His ride was great until that crash, he drove the crowd really crazy - no surprise he had the potential to win the Session. Medics took him away and later we were said that thankfully he was okay.

The guy with the glasses in the middle Adrien Bulard was also very skilled

Nose manual grinding at it's finest

Unfortunately none of the Estonians qualified for the Finals. Everything was epic - all the 360's, hardflips, frontflips, even crashes were breathtaking to watch. Even managed to find my favorite skater and BMX rider and take a picture with them.

Kechaud Johnson with his fab pink cap

Kechaud finished 2nd and I liked him 'cus his jumps went really high. His airtime was cool to watch and pinky cap always shined so everyone could see him.

Favorite BMX rider Courage Adams - the name Courage says it all

Courage's riding style was unique, he is more like a street BMX rider. His nose manual to 360 to manual to bars were really awesome to watch. The crowd loved him and his ultra combos.

Backflip

Furthermore, I made a new friend Hanna and I got the chance to try her longboard - it was awesome! Like my friend Simon often says: "Damn, life is good." There was a challenge with a balance board by PULS Nutrition. You had to stay in balance for 20 sec at least to get 1 protein bar for free, I managed to hold myself on the board for 43 sec - yea. The protein bars were absolutely delicious.

Feeling great

Every day, before we went to sleep we played some cards and ate at McDonalds, sadly, every evening. Fun weekend, can't describe it!

"No matter what people tell you, words and ideas can change the world." - Robin Williams

Spring break is on and I've already celebrated the birthdays of my two great friends. The first birthday party was so wild that unfortunately I have no pictures of it. The birthday kid got 18 and he got his first girlfriend from the party, the girl is a blow up doll but hole is a hole, right? Just kidding. :D

Well, on Saturday, still recovering from the hangover I almost slept in for the interview that I was supposed to go. I'm maybe going to start with my first official app developer job but only maybe. It would be a great experience for me as I want to make living with programming and designing in future.

Mark getting ready for the competition - Simple Session isn't far

The weekend went pretty fast, too fast to be honest but thank God it's holiday. Kaido's birthday on Sunday was more like a chill n grill evening - sauna, grill and a shot to celebrate his successful aging. The only issue was that I couldn't go to sauna with others 'cus my birthmark which I got removed isn't fully recovered yet. As a gift we gave him a box (ULTIMATE ADULT KAIDO STARTER KIT) which had a special beer, bunch of condoms, toy car, some cash and a card with poem and prostitute's phone nr written in it. But as Kaido is 18 and has a beard which makes him look decades older he can now join the Dollar Beard Club where he will suit perfectly.
