Helmet & 29"

"We rise by lifting others." - Robert Ingersoll

School is pretty much over yet I don't have too much free time in my hands. It's a good thing though since it doesn't make me excessively bored.
Starting off with my factory fresh bike - I got myself a new mighty new ride and I already had a chance to test it at Velokulg 2017. Some of you may know the event, those who don't feel free to review my post from last year by clicking HERE. Back then I didn't have my very own bike which is why I couldn't participate but I volunteered for the event instead. This year I cruised along the whole route with my friends and it was awesome. By the way, big up Mariel and Mark for taking these cool photos at the event.

Fun times aside, I have been working too. I and my classmate Sander held a 3-day programming workshop for primary school students. The course was beneficial for both us and the prospects because the feedback we got was 100% positive. I learned that teaching and helping the youth really loads me with positive vibes because it's a unique way to return the favor to the community. We had eleven students and everyone understood the necessity of programming well, all of them were determined and motivated. I would like to thank Viljandi Gymnasium for letting us use a classroom, Ltd. Cleveron for supporting us financially and Erik Rebane who was there to take photos and compile a short video of the event. I wish to arrange something like this again in near future.

Ups & downs

"Thank you for life, and all the little ups and downs that make it worth living." - Travis Barker

Everyone has their ups and downs. Right now I'm not sure which one I'm having but let's focus on the positive side. As the football pitch in my town was under construction for a while because it needed new grass cover, I hadn't played football for months. Now as the field is ready we went there to try the new artificial turf out by obviously playing some football. The weather was perfect at the time we arrived and thankfully Mark had his camera with him and we managed to score some great goals and take breathtaking photos.

Takin' it to the major league

According to my calendar, its still supposed to be autumn outside but when I look out of my window I see snow everywhere. I'm not really a fan of winter but when I went jogging yesterday, I was glad that I took my phone with me so I could get some stunning photos of the landscape covered with angelic snow. When I started running back towards home I ran into Liisa and Karmen who were walking their dogs. They were also outside to take pictures and Karmen even took one of me.

FOOD PORN

"Ambition is a dream with a V8 engine." - Elvis Presley

You don't turn 19 everyday, do you? It was my birthday yesterday and the day was great - I felt amazing when my schoolmates came to wish me happy birthday. Furthermore, I'm going to have a few friends over on Friday, by a few I mean like 35 people - I hope my house survives the blast. I've also been going for regular runs lately. After the marathon which I finished second and a recent test where high school students are tested if they're fit enough to do army conscription (Kaitseväe test), I had a huge motivation boost. As I maxed out the Defence Forces test, I felt like I should train my stamina even more and reach for even higher stars. As two great friends of mine (a'holes) have been bantering about my desire to attend a university abroad, my response to them was that my plans have changed from "going to Harvard" to "running to Harvard". Quotation marks are there because I'm not going to Harvard, I'll leave the seats free for the smarter ones :D. But still, being an international student would be dope.

 Feelin' happy

Messy hair don't care

My grades right now are better than ever in high school. I just got a 5 in physics, my GPA is 4.6 (on scale of 1 to 5) and I'm feeling fantastic. I feel like my tutoring sessions in physics for Merili have really paid off in my grades too. I've started studying more at home. Once you get into the rhythm, melody sounds even better. Dancing sessions have been going rougher and tougher tho. I hope Marga won't give up on me just yet (I'm going to last longer than Greg did XD) - insides.

Self-made = well-made

As you can see I designed a notebook for myself. I can say I'm fairly satisfied with the final outcome - messed around with Photoshop two evenings in a row to get it done perfectly. The pictures were taken in a pizza restaurant a few days ago where we had a food orgy and wonderful studying session with Merili, Mark and Simon.

The Reds

"You have to execute. You have to sacrifice your body." - Pedro Martinez

We have this tradition in our school which our teachers aren't really fond of. It's a fun event where all the newcomers are dressed up as foxes and basically obliged to obey their ''masters'' which would be us, the seniors. Giving the ''foxes'' hard time would perhaps be an understatement because some of the stuff they have to go through is frankly quite gross. I was supposed to be the lord of two foxes though one of them was a bit freaked out by the oddities that he may have had to do and skipped school that day. Thankfully, the other one had more guts and even brought me chocolate to show who's the boss! It was a delightful day and in the end I had a lot of fun (whether or not my fox felt the same way is unguaranteed). ''Rebaste ristimine'' as we call the event has never been a piece of cake for new students here and this year was never going to be any different!

There have been so much going lately but sadly I just can't write about everything. Talking about an event which occured 2 weeks ago already, Tour d'ÖÖ (Tour de NIGHT) - what is it? The answer is simple, it's about riding bikes when the sun has gone down. Events like this make my hometown really cozy and pleasant to live in.

So, what else did I want to talk about? As some of you might know, I haven't been doing much sport lately so that means I should be out of shape, ye? Well, I approved myself the opposite on last Thursday. I took part of the local 3000m cross-country race and finished 2nd in high school men's run (10min 41sec). Wonder, if I had been training for the run properly, would I've won the gold medal then?

England vs tea bag

Q: What's the difference between England and a tea bag?  A: The tea bag stays in the cup longer.

End of June. I have my whole summer planned ahead. In July I work hard and earn money to enjoy August 200%. In August, I'm probably going to WEEKEND Festival Baltic with my friends and after that I'm going to spend a week at a media seminar (it's pretty much like a camp or smth). The second half of August will be more relaxing according to my plan. As I still haven't got the chance to swim in the sea this summer, I thought about going to Kabli beach again like last summer. Furthermore, I'm thinking about visiting Iceland but that's only maybe.

Spearhead

In conclusion, the first half of the summer has been splendid. Iceland winning England in the Euros - absolutely delightful. England left the Euro twice :D. The weather is mostly sunny and I've been playing volleyball and football quite much lately, I even went jogging around Lake Viljandi (12km).

A hog-killin’ time

"If you find yourself in a hole, the first thing to do is stop diggin'."

So many things going on and so few time to write the post about the events. On Friday, for the second time an event called Velokulg took place in my tiny hometown Viljandi. The event courages people to take their bicycles out and have a ride with hundreds of people all together. The circuit was about 15km long. Unfortunately, I didn't participate in this year's ride but I volunteered to help. I & few other offered headlights, taillights and bike bells to people who didn't have these on their bikes. After the riders finished, we gave the exhausted ones some food and drinks so they could recover.

Saturday wasn't really easier - I got two birthdays that I didn't wanna miss. Two of my amigas reached the age of majority - Merit and Loora. Loora's birthday party was country-themed and Merit's in Grammys style.

"Cows ain't milking themselves, get to work woman!"

Dangerous

The only excuse why there aren't many pictures of the parties is that the events were too damn wild 'n' crazy to capture them on the camera. Made some new acquaintances and had a great time. The weekend ended with some work at home and a little family grill n chill evening. Awesome!
The only pics I have from Merit's birthday :D
